The Prospect Japan Fund was launched in December of 1994. It is managed by Prospect Asset Management, Inc (PAMI) which was founded by Curtis Freeze as a Japan focused Investment Advisor. The fund's investment strategy is focused on consolidation in Japan, especially in domestic demand and J-REIT sectors. The Group has a seasoned investment team, with over 100 years of combined experience and is well positioned to capitalize on these opportunities. The research team in Tokyo attends hundreds of company related meetings each year, including company visits as well as results and analyst meetings. The research team provides dedicated fundamental research, analysis and recommendations to PAMI’s investment committee.
The Fund‘s objective is to achieve long-term capital growth from a portfolio of securities, primarily of smaller companies traded on Japanese Stock Markets.
To achieve the objective of delivering consistent long-term performance, The fund invests in Japanese growth as well as cyclical companies with strong management teams that possess a clear vision and focus on profitability and shareholders’ interests. The investment process is driven by proprietary fundamental research identifying companies with below average valuations and above average Earnings Growth and ROE.
The fund also invests in companies that have undervalued assets where we identify a realistic catalyst for positive change. This represents an enhancement of our investment process reflecting what we believe are exciting new opportunities in the Japanese equity market. We believe these types of companies compliment our stock picking expertise of growth companies in the Japanese domestic sectors, enabling Prospect to identify the best opportunities for long term capital appreciation in Japan caused by ongoing consolidation.
